Ed Brondo, ASLA | Director of Design, Landscape
 
As a designer with over 20 years of national and international landscape architecture experience Mr. Brondo leads BIG’s Landscape Architecture Division. He has an acute sense of design excellence in urban planning, themed-design and landscape architecture which enhance the team’s ability with an unmatched level of creativity, innovation, and knowledge. Mr. Brondo’s comprehensive experience covers pre-schematic through construction administration with industry expertise in a diversity of markets, including: destination resorts, themed-casino hotels, master planned communities, private estates, mixed-use villages and upscale high-rise developments.

Mr. Brondo’s hands-on approach to the design process starts from the conceptual charrette and is carried through to construction administration, observation and the quality control of all facets of the landscape environment. This process ensures that the client’s design expectations are always exceeded and their budget expectations are always met.

Mr. Brondo’s design tenure began with private destination resorts, where he was involved with numerous upscale resort projects including Hyatt Turtle Bay in India, and the Miyama Hills Golf Community, and Alcaidesa Master Planned Community in Spain. After completing his masters degree at the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Brondo worked in Mexico City and Southeast Asia where he delivered on many diverse and notable international projects, such as: Olango Resort, Essensa Tower in Manila, Philippines (with I.M. Pei), Cheju Shilla Hotel and Oak Village Destination Resort in Seoul, Korea (with WATG).

For the last 12 years Mr. Brondo has been located in Las Vegas were he has designed, implemented and managed a wealth of successful projects, including: Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Four Seasons Hotel, Mountain Spa Resort for Ritz-Carlton, East Village, Sullivan Square, the Excalibur Pool Renovation, and Park Centre Place.

Mr. Brondo’s creativity emerges from his father’s artistry as well as his international and cultural experiences.
